K-Culture Station Seoul 2026: BIGBANG COSMOS Guide
If you have seen videos calling this Seoul's “secret underground tunnel,” the story behind it is real.
K-Culture Station Seoul is a newly opened cultural venue inside a long underground space between City Hall Station and Euljiro 1-ga Station in the center of Seoul.
The space is approximately 335 meters long, sits about 13 meters below Seoul Plaza, and had remained closed to ordinary public use for more than 40 years.
On August 24, 2026, Seoul officially reopened it as K-Culture Station.
And the first exhibition inside is a major one:
BIGBANG 20TH ANNIVERSARY MEDIA EXHIBITION “COSMOS.”

For admission availability, use the official COSMOS reservation page on NAVER Booking.
Important: Reserve Before You Go
COSMOS is not operating like a normal museum where you can assume that walking up to the entrance will be enough.
Current Seoul guidance says admission uses one-hour timed reservations, with up to 100 people per session and 12 sessions per day.
It also specifically says there is no separate on-site ticket sale.
So if COSMOS is important to your trip, do this in the right order:
ticket first → itinerary second.
And watch the calendar.
After the special August 24 opening, the exhibition is closed every Monday.
Was This Underground Space Really Closed for 40 Years?
Yes—but the full story is more interesting than the viral version.
Seoul says the space was likely formed in the early 1980s while underground infrastructure between City Hall and Euljiro 1-ga was being developed.
The exact historical construction record is not completely clear.
For decades, the concrete walls, columns and long tunnel-like structure remained largely unused and inaccessible to ordinary visitors.
That means it is misleading to describe it as a purpose-built “1970 secret tunnel” or a Seun Sangga underground passage.
It is neither.
This is a City Hall–Euljiro underground space beneath central Seoul.
It Was Briefly Explored in 2023
There is another fact worth knowing.
The site was not completely untouched until 2026.
Seoul temporarily opened it in September 2023 through a Citizen Explorers program.
Permanent public use was not possible at the time because ventilation, fire-safety and evacuation facilities needed improvement.
Those facilities were later upgraded, allowing the space to reopen as a proper cultural venue in 2026.
So the more accurate timeline is:
decades of restricted use → limited public exploration in 2023 → permanent cultural conversion in 2026.
That is the story I would remember.
What Is BIGBANG COSMOS?
The official title is:
BIGBANG 20TH ANNIVERSARY MEDIA EXHIBITION “COSMOS.”
It commemorates BIGBANG's 20th debut anniversary, but this is not designed as a conventional museum exhibition with a few photographs and costumes arranged in display cases.
Instead, the underground venue itself becomes part of the experience.
Visitors move through 11 immersive zones distributed along the 335-meter space.
The official program includes:
- media art
- projection mapping
- holograms
- VR
- music and video
- performance-based content
- interactive visitor experiences
The sequence is designed so that visitors physically move through the long underground passage while experiencing different parts of BIGBANG's music and history.
Why the Venue Makes This Exhibition Different
This is probably the most interesting part.
Seoul did not completely erase the old underground structure.
The venue retains much of the original:
- exposed concrete
- columns
- narrow proportions
- long tunnel-like layout
The result is a strange contrast.
An old piece of Seoul infrastructure becomes the backdrop for a highly digital K-pop exhibition.
That is why I think K-Culture Station is interesting even beyond BIGBANG.
The exhibition could theoretically exist somewhere else.
The 335-meter underground space cannot.
What Is “dududo Seoul”?
You may see both names while planning your visit:
K-Culture Station
and
dududo Seoul.
Do not immediately assume you found two different exhibitions.
Seoul's own reporting describes the venue as a collaboration between K-Culture Station and dududo Seoul, with Seoul and Seoul Metro handling the public-space and infrastructure side while Creative Mut handles content and internal-space planning and operation.
For a foreign visitor, the useful rule is simple:
If your COSMOS booking or navigation information mentions dududo Seoul, check it against the official booking instructions rather than assuming it is unrelated.
How to Book BIGBANG COSMOS
Admission is currently:
₩20,200 per person.
Reservations are made through NAVER Booking.
Check BIGBANG COSMOS availability on NAVER Booking
Because entry is timed, I would not choose a date and build an entire Seoul itinerary around it until the booking is actually confirmed.
The exhibition ends on September 27, 2026.
That does not mean every session before September 27 will necessarily remain available.
What If You Don't Have a Korean Phone Number?
This part became easier in 2026.
NAVER introduced Passport Verification in June 2026 for foreign users who have difficulty completing Korean mobile-phone verification.
NAVER says eligible users with passports issued outside Korea can use passport verification for supported reservation, ordering and payment services without a Korean mobile number.
Read NAVER's official Passport Verification guide
One qualification matters:
passport verification does not mean every possible NAVER service is guaranteed to work identically for every foreign user.
NAVER itself says supported services are being expanded.
So I would complete your NAVER setup before the day you want to visit rather than testing it five minutes before a popular COSMOS session.
How to Get to K-Culture Station Seoul
Think of the location like this:
City Hall Station ↔ K-Culture Station ↔ Euljiro 1-ga Station
The venue occupies the underground space between the two stations, beneath the central Seoul area around Seoul Plaza.
According to a current Seoul site visit, the COSMOS visitor route begins from the exhibition entrance closer to the Euljiro 1-ga side and continues through the long venue toward the City Hall side.
That detail is more useful than relying on a random old street address copied from social media.
JAY's Advice
Before leaving your hotel:
- open the official NAVER reservation
- check the current entrance instructions
- save the venue in NAVER Map
- give yourself extra walking time underground
Do not calculate your arrival time using only the distance shown between two points on the street.
Central Seoul's underground network is extensive, and finding the correct corridor can take longer than the map makes it look.
Pair COSMOS With Central Seoul, Not a Cross-City Marathon
Because K-Culture Station is already in the center of Seoul, I would use the exhibition as the anchor for a central-Seoul day rather than traveling back and forth across the city.
After COSMOS, you can stay in the downtown area for dinner or continue your evening nearby instead of immediately heading to the opposite side of Seoul.
If you are deciding where to spend the evening, JAY's Seoul at Night guide can help you decide what kind of nightlife area fits you.
What About Seoul Transportation?
City Hall and Euljiro 1-ga are both easy to reach by Seoul subway.
For travelers making many subway and bus trips over several days, JAY's Seoul Climate Card guide is worth checking before automatically paying per ride.
The important point is not to buy an unlimited transportation product simply because the word “unlimited” sounds convenient.
A traveler spending most of the day walking around central Seoul may reach a different answer from someone crossing the city repeatedly.
Visiting on Hotel Checkout Day?
A timed-entry exhibition and a large suitcase are not a great combination.
If your accommodation will store your bags, that is normally the easiest solution.
If it will not, you can compare luggage-storage options through Bounce.
Before booking a storage location, check:
- actual location
- opening hours
- collection deadline
- distance from your route
- luggage restrictions
- cancellation terms
- current price
Do not save ₩2,000 on storage and then spend 45 minutes crossing Seoul to retrieve your suitcase.
Coming From Incheon Airport?
Do not book a COSMOS session based only on your scheduled flight landing time.
Landing is not the same thing as being in central Seoul.
You still have immigration, baggage collection, airport exit and the journey into the city.
For a full comparison, use JAY's Incheon Airport to Seoul 2026 guide. That URL is also present in JAY's approved internal-link set.
If you are arriving late, traveling as a family or carrying several large bags, you can also compare a pre-booked Seoul airport transfer with Welcome Pickups.
That is the same Welcome Pickups link already used in JAY's Incheon Airport article.
Is BIGBANG COSMOS Worth It?
For a serious BIGBANG fan, this is probably an easy decision.
It is a 20th-anniversary exhibition built around the group's history and music, and it is happening during a limited window inside a venue that has only just opened to the public.
For a casual K-pop fan, the decision is slightly different.
You are paying ₩20,200 for an immersive media exhibition rather than a traditional museum.
If media art, K-pop and unusual architecture all appeal to you, the combination is strong.
If you have little interest in BIGBANG, I would separate the exhibition from the venue itself.
COSMOS Is Temporary. K-Culture Station Is Not Intended to Be.
COSMOS ends on September 27, 2026.
K-Culture Station, however, was created as a longer-term cultural platform rather than a one-off BIGBANG venue.
Seoul plans for the space to host changing K-culture content, including areas such as K-pop, fashion, media art and entertainment technology.
That does not mean you should assume the venue will operate every day immediately after COSMOS ends.
Program schedules after the exhibition should be checked separately.
That distinction matters.
Who Should Go?
I would prioritize COSMOS if you are:
- a BIGBANG fan
- interested in K-pop history
- interested in immersive media art
- looking for an unusual indoor Seoul experience
- curious about hidden or repurposed urban spaces
I would think twice if you are:
- arriving with no reservation
- visiting on a Monday
- carrying large luggage
- trying to fit the exhibition tightly between your airport arrival and another reservation
- assuming it is a free public attraction

Use the current reservation instructions for the precise exhibition entrance.
JAY's Take
The best part of this story is not simply:
“BIGBANG has a new exhibition in Seoul.”
The interesting part is where Seoul put it.
For decades, a 335-meter underground space sat beneath one of the busiest parts of the city with little public access.
It was briefly explored by citizens in 2023.
The infrastructure was upgraded.
Then in 2026, it reopened as a permanent K-culture venue—with BIGBANG's 20th anniversary as the opening act.
That is why I would not describe K-Culture Station as just another K-pop pop-up.
COSMOS is the temporary event.
The underground space is the Seoul story.
Reserve the exhibition first.
Then let the rest of your Seoul day fit around it.
